Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using Neko (“the app”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What Neko is — and is not

Neko is a client application that configures and controls a proxy tunnel on your own device using the bundled open-source kernel. We do not operate, sell, resell or provide access to any proxy or VPN servers, and we do not supply subscriptions, nodes or bandwidth. All server connections are made to endpoints that you configure yourself, obtained from a provider of your choosing or run by you.

3. Licence

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, nor reverse-engineer it except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.

4. Your responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for the servers, subscriptions and credentials you use with the app, and for keeping those credentials secure.
• You must comply with all laws and regulations applicable to you, and with the terms of any provider whose service you connect to.
• You must not use the app to infringe others’ rights, to gain unauthorised access to systems, to distribute malware, or to carry out any unlawful activity.
• You are responsible for any data charges or costs incurred through your use of the app.

5. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. Features described on this site may change between releases. We are not obliged to provide updates or continued support.

6. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that it will work with any particular server, provider or network.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of — or inability to use — the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of the two sections above may not apply to you.

8. Third-party services and content

The app connects to third-party services at your direction. We do not control and are not responsible for those services, their availability, their content, or their handling of your data. Your relationship with any provider is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

9. Open-source components

Neko includes third-party open-source software. In particular, its proxy engine is built on meow-rs, which is distributed under the MIT Licence, Copyright © 2026 Max Lv. The MIT Licence text and other applicable notices are reproduced in the app’s acknowledgements. Those components remain licensed to you under their own terms, which prevail over these Terms with respect to that software.

10. Termination

This licence remains in effect until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach these Terms. You may terminate it at any time by deleting the app from your devices.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
