How Neko handles your data — in short: it stays on your device.

The short version

Neko has no accounts and asks for no personal information.
Neko contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
Your subscriptions, nodes and settings are stored only on your device.
Neko operates no proxy servers. Your traffic goes to servers you configure.
Neko does not log, collect or transmit your browsing history or traffic contents.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Neko application for iOS (“Neko”, “the app”), developed by StarHub Information (“we”, “us”). It does not cover the proxy providers, subscription services or servers you choose to use with Neko — those are operated by third parties under their own policies.

2. Information we collect

We collect nothing. Neko does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details, and contains no analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs. We operate no servers that receive data from the app.

3. Data stored on your device

To function, Neko saves the following in its own private storage on your device (including a shared app group container used by its network extension):

Subscriptions and node details you add — names, server addresses, ports and the credentials contained in the links you paste (for example UUIDs or passwords).
App settings such as routing mode, sound and haptics preferences.
A generated kernel configuration file and a local API credential used by the app to control its own tunnel process on your device (loopback only).
Recent activity logs shown in the Prints tab. These stay on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.

This data is never uploaded to us. You can remove it at any time by deleting individual feeds in the app, or by deleting the app, which removes all of its stored data.

4. Network connections Neko makes

For transparency, these are the only outbound connections the app initiates:

DNS resolution	Public resolvers (currently `223.5.5.5` and `8.8.8.8`)	Used by the bundled kernel to resolve names while the tunnel is active.

None of these connections send data to us, because we do not run any of these endpoints.

5. About the VPN permission

Neko asks iOS for permission to add a VPN configuration. This is required for any app that routes device traffic through a tunnel. Neko uses this capability solely to pass your traffic to the proxy servers you configured. It does not inspect, record or transmit the contents of your traffic, and no traffic is sent to us.

6. Third parties

Your proxy or subscription provider can see the traffic you route through their servers, subject to their own privacy policy. Choose providers you trust.
Apple may collect data related to app distribution, purchases and crash reporting under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not receive personal data from Apple.

We do not sell, rent, trade or share your data — we do not have it.

8. Children

Neko is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no information from anyone.

9. Security

Data stays inside the app’s sandbox, protected by iOS file protection and your device passcode or biometric lock. Because credentials from your subscriptions are stored on the device, we recommend keeping a device passcode enabled.

10. Your choices and rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on your behalf. You retain full control locally: delete a feed to remove its nodes, or delete the app to remove everything.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
